Southern Weddings: Peach & Coral

In early January, I had the idea to explore my current favorite wedding colors: coral and peach. As a Chicago wedding planner, I was dreaming of somewhere warmer to design and plan a wedding…and then it hit me: southern weddings!

After visiting Charleston in March, I was in love. I was surrounded by the ocean, exploring gorgeous plantations, and surrounded by beautiful camellias. I was in heaven.

I had an amazing team who helped bring my vision to life, and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. It had my heart feeling warm on such a chilly March day! There are even some photos of yours truly, and a promo video that will be released soon. xoxo.

Chicago Weddings on the Lake: Sarah & Bill

Happy Valentine’s Day, Dolls! I am so excited to share Sarah & Bill’s wedding with all of you especially because of their love for the color red.
Sarah and Bill grew up in Michigan, and were high school sweethearts. Sarah says she fell in love with Bill on a study abroad trip to Germany. Nearly 10 years later, the two said I-Do at the stunning River East Art Center. With the windows, long galleries, and open-air concept, this was the perfect backdrop for their July affair.

I have a couple faves from the day:
In lieu of a traditional guest book, we had guests write notes to Sarah & Bill, and put them in an anniversary box of their choice. The two will read the notes on the corresponding anniversary for years to come.

Sarah and Bill attended rival universities and to keep it fun for the guests during cocktail hour, we had rival corn hole games going. Indiana vs Michigan!

As favors, guests received hand-made Michigan wine that Sarah’s mom made. I loved how Sarah and Bill incorporated their Michigan roots into their Chicago wedding.

Every table was named after a place that Sarah & Bill traveled to together.

We ended the night with a sparkler exit. It was just any old sparkler either! They were two feet long! It was the perfect way to end such a special day. Sarah walked through the sparklers with tears of joy running down her face. As she got into the car beaming, she looked at me and yelled ‘thank you Ashley!’ Thank you Sarah & Bill; I truly loved being apart of your wedding day.

2012 Review: A Whirlwind Year

2012 was such a roller coaster of a year. I had fabulous weddings with clients, and spent some much needed time with my family. 2012 review…
The year started off with a bang with  Sara and Ryan at the Chicago Cultural Center. I easily fell in love with the space, and it was the perfect spring color scheme: blush pink and charcoal gray. Kehoe Designs did the gorgeous floral designs, and I couldn’t have been happier with the way their wedding turned out.

In May, I celebrated with Adam and Kamile. One of my favorite moments from that day is the card that Adam made Kamile. To me, it perfectly encompassed the love they have for one another, and you could clearly see they are best friends. Plus, it had Ryan Gosling in it. Hello, how fabulous is that?

In June, I moved to a fabulous new neighborhood that I absolutely adore: Wicker Park, and I fell in love with this handsome guy:

In July, I celebrated with Misty and Earl as well as Sarah and Bill.  Both took place at fabulous venues: Pazzos 311 and The River East Arts Center. Misty and Earl also had the special honor of taking photos in the Cubs Locker Room. How cool is that?

Oh, and yours truly celebrated a birthday! Here I am at Sarah & Bill’s wedding, the day before my birthday, playing with their fabulous sparklers. Had to make sure they worked! Did I mention they were two feet long?

In August, I celebrated Mandy and Mike’s wedding. How gorgeous is this couple? I adored how close their whole bridal party was to one another, and Mandy introduced me to future bride: Kate.

September was a whirlwind of a month. Three fabulous couples: Mili and Ian, Dara and Matt and Natalie and Ernesto. I first met  Natalie and Ernesto at Misty and Earl’s wedding. After watching Natalie and Ernesto salsa dancing, I totally fell for their charm. I just had to say yes when they asked me to be apart of their day.

In September, my dad also lost his nearly five year battle with lung cancer. Thank you to all my amazing couples, friends and family for your kind words. It was so nice to know I had great support all around. Here’s a recent photo of us from last January. He sure was a fighter.

In October, Deena and Mark married. I was obsessed with the ombré theme. The wedding was so personal, down to the perfect Oscar de la Renta shoes. Oh, and I wanted to steal Deena’s dress. Some extra yellow tulle completed the ombré theme.

Then before I knew it, the holidays were here, and I spent some much needed time with family. My mom and I did tons of volksmarches around the St. Louis area and I played lots with my pup. Here is my mom and I on Christmas.

Then, just like that, 2012 was over. It sure was an eventful year. I am so excited for what this year has in store. Stay tuned!

Yellow Ombre Wedding | Deena & Mark: October 5, 2012

Deena and Mark wed on a quintessential autumn day. It was the perfect back drop for their  yellow ombre wedding.

How gorgeous is this dress? To go with the ombre theme of the day, Deena added yellow tulle to the bottom of her dress. It added a subtle pop; what do you think? I was in love!

Deena searched far and low for these amazing Oscar de la Renta shoes! She ended up finding them in Texas. I think they were well worth it!

Chicago Real Weddings | Misty & Earl

I am so excited to share these gorgeous images of Misty & Earl with you!

The fabulous couple married in early July, and it was a warm, but beautiful day.

Misty, along with her closest gal-pals, got ready at home. Earl and his favorite men suited up at the W Downtown.

Earl’s minister growing up also joined the festivities, and both ministers shared stories of love and encouragement for the newlyweds.

Lithuanian World Center Chicago Wedding | Kamile & Adam: May 12, 2012

Kamile and Adam’s day was an amazing party! From the beginning of the day, till the end, the couple was all smiles and laughing with their friends and family.

Adam knew how much Kamile loved Ryan Gosling, so he made her an extra special card!

“Hey Girl, I’ll be waiting at the alter.” How cute is that?

The two didn’t stop smiling the whole day!

Rain didn’t put a damper on this beautiful day.

Kamile is Lithuanian and it was important for her to incorporate that into her wedding. Everyone loved getting to taste the food especially the candy. The couple danced the night away at the Lithuanian World Events Center.
